Hi,
The J stood for a happy face which converted to J in transmission.
Actually, what I meant was that microwave don't make nice pies alone. That
you use a combination of microwave and finish the apple pie in the oven to
give it a golden crust is OK by me. I simply said that microwave alone does
not bake, it agitates molecules and explode tissues, and makes food mushy.
Please, go along with me and admit that your pie is very pale when it comes
out of the microwave...
Otherwise you method of cooking sounds great and it does cut the cooking time
by half.
Thanks, I will try it some time.
Hélène

Hélène J said something to the effect that " I have yet to see an
apple pie come out of the microwave".

I make all my fruit pies in the microwave, they are much better than
just from the oven, and faster too!

I cook my fruit/apple pies 12 minutes on high in the microwave oven
and then 12 min at 400 degrees F in a regular oven. I get rave
reviews. Try it: faster and better.
