To Lon and all grape growers,

I've got to do something about my rampant grape vines of Venus, Reliance, and
Interlaken

Hidden underneath hundreds of huge leaves are the clusters of grapes.

Lon, you said to girdle the vine a few weeks before ripening to increase
ripening
time and/or increase sugars?

Another source says I should have cut off the vine about three leaves beyond
the
fruit cluster in June

Another source says cut off all rampant growth now

I can certainly cut off all non-fruiting vines now and that would help, but
is it
possible, desirable to cut off some of the fruiting vines above the fruit
cluster
now?

How far above the fruit cluster?

Lon, I'll get your book when it comes out, but I need advice now if I'm to
get any
edible grapes.

Thanks,

Derry
