This is a friendly reminder that the registration deadline for the 2015 Vencore-IBM virtual App Challenge is fast approaching…13 November!  Many of you have already signed up and we continue to expand our First Responder Unmet Needs which now include knowledge management, inclement weather and fire rescue.  You can find the latest info at http://geomarketspace.com/Challenge/ChallengePage

 

 

Challenge Description:

Vencore and IBM, in coordination with APCO and USGIF, are hosting a no-cost virtual application challenge for the first responder community from 16-23 November 2015 with awards valued at $10,000 including cash, Go-pro wearable cameras, gift certificates and registrations to GEOINT Foreword science & technology forum at 2016 GEOINT Symposium. 

 

HIGHLIGHTS of the App Challenge:

      Virtual event using a First Responder Application Ecosystem

      Over 2,200 invitees from industry, academia and the public safety community

      Develop solutions to 18 specific unmet needs from operational first responders (see categories below)

      Team awards include $5,000 cash, Go-pro cameras and GEOINT Forum tickets

      First Responder participants will:

       Provide unmet needs to developers

       Interact in virtual discussion forums

       Receive participation awards including gift certificates (for government employees) and go-pro cameras

       Test solutions in the field

      Industry and University participants will:

       Work virtually with first responders and their unmet needs

       Team up and use free IBM Bluemix development services to build solutions

       Receive awards valued at $10,000

       Have their solution showcased to the first responder community in 2016

      Registration deadline is 13 November 2015!
