We use multiple methods to communicate with our members.
There is a moderated MSAR list serve that sends out a weekly digest of
events, articles, news, training through cooperating agencies, and public
member information to every member and the general public.
There is an SMS system that covers just members for SEPASAR only events,
but is available to the public for weather, Amber Alerts, mosquito spraying,
floods,
road closures This can send to e-mail, smart phone, or any text enables
device
Alphanumeric paging primarily for emergency response and county wide
announcements
Lastly there is a public page maintained by the EOC of active fire, EMS, and
traffic events in the county with access to maps, satellite images of the
scene, response lists.
We also use telephone and US Mail with most training materials being
distributed on a CD or e-mail.
There is a FB page that is primarily to direct inquiries to our website
which is used for recruiting and is somewhat static.
Typically a training event would be announced initially via list (several
times), followed by an SMS message and a simulated dispatch on the day of
itself to make sure the pagers
Work and the dispatchers know which CAD routines to use. If it is a
classroom session, such as an upcoming Knowledge Center training session at
the EOC, the entire training notice
will be on the digest when received. We get notices in from other MSAR and
SAR groups, at least 5 counties, and several other organizations via e-mail
and they are forwarded to the
list.
