This passed weekend tornadoes ripped through several states from Illinois to Ohio leaving destruction here and there.

Four counties in Illinois were declared official disaster areas by the governor including the counties of Lasalle, Peru, Livingston and Putnam with the hardest hit being the town of Dwight around Route 17 and 47 where a mobile home park was hit and some 25 homes there were demolished by the twisterstorms.  There was report of a gas leak.  There were reports of 15 different funnels in Illinois.

There were also some damge reports in an Illinois town called Elwood.  Buildings were torn with siding and trees down.

In the report I got about the wind force in Dwight was 145 MPH.  I am not sure what F catagory that lies in. There was no one killed to my knowledge and I do not beleive anyone is missing.  I have not received any contrary information regarding such, so if anyone can correct my data, please do so.

I recently received photos of the damaged area were the storms hit Dwight and cleanup efforts are still going on as of 6/5/10 and imagine it will take a while to restore the area hardest hit.  What a mess and amazing no one was killed.

I beleive this same line of storms also hit Toledo, Ohio.   The storms in Ohio were killer storms. Last known death toll there rose from 5 to 7.  Information I received on the Ohio storm said the storm there was 100 yards wide and 7 miles long on touch down with damages to buildings from downed trees.

No other information has been received here.  I do not beleive there has been any missing persons in the Illinois or Ohio areas either.   Please correct any information that I may have in error.
