According to the HARPS website, all the surviving horses from the Oct 27 double decker truck wreck have been placed for adoption. The filly named "One More Chance" has been adopted by a veterinarian.  Some are waiting to go to their new homes. Some adoptions may fall through, so animals may become available again.  You can learn more at http://www.harpsonline.org/ .

I have been asked how you all can help with donations and I have said I would let you know.  I have waited to see where the real need was and who was really bearing the cost of all the care and feeding of the horses.  So here you go:  HARPS has been covering the cost and now they need to replenish the coffers.  I spoke today to the Carney family, where the horses have been recovering. They were enthusiastic in their praise of HARPS and how they have been receiving payments from that organization to cover the costs of caring for these unfortunate animals.

Open up your wallets, guys!           HARPS came through for the horses and now they need help.

Show them you mean business and tell 'em the Lake County Mounted Posse sent ya.

Happy Trails and Happy New Year!
