Mike,

I didn't ask you the most important question before: is your
use commercial, or strictly educational? Permissions (needed
for commercial use) are difficult because you need them from the
photographer, the subject(s), and possibly also the owner of
the land or other property (eg, horses) in the photo. Getting
these after the fact can be a real chore. But if your use is
educational, and you are not paid for the presentation itself,
then current US copyright law (as commonly interpreted) does
not require you to get permissions. You may want them, to be
polite, but in that case your best bet is to identify a photo
you like and ask for specific permission to use that photo.

Anyway, I hope you will share the photos you use with us! It
would be useful to have a strong photo collection for giving
talks about MSAR.
