from sandy miller, tmsar, taos nm. great information. you are all welcome to
email me directly. i would love to get any kind of standardized written
material.

we are still in the process of collecting interested riders for our msar. it
is our groundpoounders who have all the knowledge and experience at this
point. ive been recruiting since sept and guess we would be ready to ride
approx april. the riders interested are all good riders, but with varying
levels of backcountry experience, medical training, etc. we have a Wilderness
first aid teacher here, Carl Gilmore who gives a 3 or 4 day WAFA course at
taos ski valley every spring. you can email me and ill give you carls email
directly.

There is also a horse training group from so.california who the bernallio
msar brings in every two years called Mounted International. i believe they
ahve a website, they do a good job of gentle persuasion, despooking, etc. for
mounted police and others.

Una, again, thanks for the tips on the two books from NASAR. im waiting for
board approval, and will order them. regards and thanks for the website.
Sandy Miller, mtd training coordinator
