Ahh the Evil Weed! I've had this stuff come right through whole bales of
hay, rip right through heavy black plastic.
But I have had good success by mulching with a layer of heavy cardboard
covered with a heavy layer of straw (be certain it is not infested with
quackgrass seed!) The cardboard breaks down in about a year.
