For me the lower leaves fall off from time to time, so I just go ahead and break off a few more, if they are in the way.

As for Okra, I always thought it likes it hot and dry. Well we have been hot and dry and my production is, a little off.  I have been watering with drip, I have good soil moisture, fertility is good and the plants are almost 6 foot tall and look really healthy. We just started picking last week, but I am use to a little more Okra than what I am getting.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jay

When I cut pods off the okra, I also take the leaf off and throw it in the row for mulch.  It doesn't seem to hinder the plant and it makes the stuff easier to work with throughout the season.

Am I missing out on production by doing this?
Mac
