I have to say that I have never tried this but many "oldtimers" tell me it works. Spread plain flour on you plants.  The grasshoppers eat it and it either expands in their stomachs or their jaws get "glued" shut.  It is worth a try.

In my experience with guineas, they eat all the green strawberries and peck holes in every ripe or semi ripe tomato. I’ve seen them jump up and get hornworms off tomato plants. They do eat grasshopper, ticks and who knows what else.
