I can vouch for Simon's comments.  I'm one of the farmers who bought into Small Farm Central.  It has worked great for us.  We are primarily a CSA farm and we took most of our payments through google checkout on Small Farm Central.  We intend to use the google checkout function more this season.  Hopefully for restaurant sales and "a la carte" CSA boxes.

Once you sign-up (which is free and then just takes a few days to verify your bank account), you can then send email invoices through their system. The recipient can then click on a link to pay with a credit card.

This assumes you don't need to swipe, it is a predefined amount, and you are not processing a lot of transactions.

We provide an ecommerce extension to our website software for farms that can handle needs for larger volumes of online sales.

This could be completely off-base since you may need to accept a swipe, but the nice thing about Google Checkout is the customer's credit card info is saved in the system, so they can just go back each week, login in, and check out with a quick click. It is pretty slick and much less confusing than PayPal. The percentage rate is low too (2%).
