What variety of raspberries do you have planted?
Marlin remembers some man commenting (a long time ago) about a certain variety of raspberries which attracted wasps.
This year our Heritage red raspberries have more honey bees than usual. Usually we have hornets, wasps, bumble bees, Japanese beetles, assasin bugs, wheel bugs, preying mantis, etc.
It sounds like your bumble bees are as plentiful as our Japanese beetles are some years.
