The Tri-state Organic IP Video Series continues with* Insect and
Disease Control in Organic Vegetables, Thursday, April 19, 6-8:30 p.m.*
EST, at locations in Ohio, Illinois and Indiana.

Topics to be covered include: Preventing Insect Problems in Organic
Vegetable Systems - Rick Foster, Purdue University; Biological Control
and Organic Pesticides in Organic Vegetable Production - Rick Weinzierl,
University of Illinois; Diagnosis and Prevention of Vegetable Diseases
in Organic Systems - Dan Egel, Purdue University; and Specific
Approaches to Disease Management in Organic Systems ­ Sally Miller, Ohio
State University.

The program aims to boost growers awareness of approved tools and
techniques for insect and disease control in organic vegetables.

Attend in Ohio in 130 Research Services Building on the Ohio
Agricultural Research and Development Center's (OARDC) Wooster campus,
1680 Madison Ave., or in 244 Kottman Hall, 2021 Coffey Rd., on Ohio
State's Columbus campus.

Admission at the Ohio sites is free, but call Alan Sundermeier, (419)
354-9050, to reserve a seat and handouts and to indicate where you plan
to attend.

886-9582, for locations in Illinois and Indiana, respectively.

The IP video format lets speakers and audience members interact from all
three states.

Ahead on the schedule, all from 6-8:30 p.m. EST: "Organic Poultry
Production," Sept. 20; and "Beginning Organic Farming/Certification",
Nov. 15.

The North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
(SARE) program, University of Illinois Extension, Purdue University
Extension, and OSU Extension sponsor the series.
