So far, our dogs have kept the deer away too. Our dogs are
fenced and they sleep in the house at night.

But I think the whole garden area must just be so saturated
with dog-scent that the deer stay out of the garden. The
garden is fenced, but the fence is only 4' high and that's
certainly no barrier to a deer.

There are plenty of deer here, but there's also plenty for
them to eat without attacking my garden, and that might help
too.
