Regards to the list:

Dori, I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles. Nasty people to live off you then bail out. Bet you're glad they're gone. Perhaps you should tell their names so others won't get taken by them.

Jacqueline, I know it's hard to wait until they do medical procedures, but all the people I know who have had bypass surgery are doing GREAT! Most of them say they feel better immediately. Not so many years ago, there would have been no recourse.

We're having decent weather - sun shining, a little chilly with a breeze, but pretty good. The whole place is a quagmire of mud except on the few hills.

We went to an farm equipment auction on Saturday but didn't buy anything. I had to leave because I felt so rotten. That made up my mind for me - I decided to seek different medical advice. So, I called Mayo Clinic this morning - They will absolutely not see me. They have no room for appointments. I called an acquaintance whose husband is having good luck with his endocrinologist, but nobody's home. So I emailed Oprah. Maybe she can help. I have to get everything done before I take my medicine because about 45 minutes after I take all of it, all I can do is lie down and sleep. This just cannot go on.

I'm going to court tomorrow. My daughter was rear ended twice last May by a guy apparently high on crack. He had no drivers license, his big truck had plates switched from another truck, he had a loaded sawed off shotgun and an open fifth of Jim Beam in the cab with him. She was in my little Escort stopped at a stop sign and he hit her going approx. 40 mph, backed up, hit her again and drove off. Pushed her out onto the highway. All sorts of witnesses. She got a ticket for making him mad. He said she had driven too close to his truck in the park earlier. I hired a lawyer last summer and he told her just to plead guilty and pay the fine - said the prosecutor didn't like us. I hired a new lawyer and we'll see what he has to say tomorrow. This guy didn't get any jail time. The court put him on probation and ordered him to pay us restitution of $3200. So far, we've gotten $400. By the grapevine I heard that he thought we had sued him and planned to get even. Last night, all the brake fluid in our truck drained out. Haven't found out yet if it was cut or just wore out. So, I guess we can come to the conclusion from all this is that if you have road rage, it's pretty much ok to act on it here in Grundy County, Missouri.

I think I'll start some seeds in the basement under the shop lights this afternoon if I can stay awake. The three lambs, Judy, Martha and George, are doing extremely well. They are frisky and entertain us for hours with their cavorting. The guineas are finally mating and staying in the hen house, so perhaps we'll have babies this year. The crocus, tulips and daffodils are coming up on the south side of the house.

That's about it around here.

Marie in Missouri
