That's pretty rare but forwarding, without permission, sensitive
private email to a list with or without one's response appended is
more common and very impolite - or just quoting private email in a
post to a list without the author's permission, equally impolite.

A minor clarification. Most people don't know how to hack headers
(forge posts from someone) so this is likely to continue to be a rare
occurance. Those on Unix systems can usuallu bounce a users private
email to other destinations, lists and newsgroups as well as
individuals. This is transparent and looks just like the user intended
to send said mail - except that the hidden headers will reveal _who_
did the bouncing. Those that do this anyway sometimes use this method
to cancel the forged author's newsgroup message(s) - resulting in
their prematurely being removed from all servers carring the newsgroup
in question. If found out all ISP's will remove, probably permanently,
the account of the user in question. So, you have forging of email and
forging and cancelling of newsgroup articles, all illegal and all will
result in loss of Web access.
