Howdy,

I'm trying to decide whether to invest the time to learn how to write a Firefox plug-in. I'd appreciate some advice from internetworkers.

While I am editing a post using the blogger.com editor, I want to highlight some text then click a button to invoke some processing. The processing will involve making some web service API calls, parsing the results, then using the results to convert the text into a clickable link.

Is this the sort of thing that's doable with a firefox plugin? Or is there some other sort of way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Calvin
