a friend of mine who is a mortgage broker just lost his job. decades of experience and a degree in real estate finance (or something like that) and he's on the street. his wife doesn't even know, yet.

does anyone have any contacts in a mortgage company in this area (cary, raleigh) that is hiring or that might be looking for someone with experience to bring into their organization?

and, no, this really is not me that i'm pitching this for. it really is for a friend.

Sorry to say this, but if I were a betting man, I'd say no one, regardless of experience, is going to be hired as a mortgage broker for the next year at least.

Man, I am always sorry to hear about someone losing their job. I
cringe every time. Sadly, I have been cringing a lot lately.
I would agree with Michael's assessment. He may want to broaden his
search to a lot more than mortgage areas. He also may have to take a
contract position if he can get one.
His bigger problem is not telling his wife first. He will need her
support in everything. I hope he just couldn't get up with her
rather than keeping it from her, but maybe that isn't what you meant.
Good luck to all that are searching, Roger
