O.K., so four of us gather, Steve's meter in hand, to diagnose the problem
with my horn. We pop the hood, look for the horn in the place where Toyota
told me I should be able to find it... and we find a plug... and a mounting
bracket... but no horn. :) Hum. So John puts the meter over the plug and
battery ground, and has me press the horn button. 12V on the plug. We
laugh. Problem with the Camry horn: There is no Camry horn!
So this story will have a ho-hum ending, since Advance has a horn that will
do what horns do (not with distinction, class, or a hint of personality, but
a horn that the next owner of this car-- should there be one-- will not
object to) for $12.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and the help!
