The vote was postponed, so of course the ACLU is bitching about that now.
First: complain that they're going to vote on it. Next: complain that
they've decided to wait.

I'd like to see the text of this proposed ordinance
The truth is always somewhere inbetween...

"The law, which bans items such as golf balls, bullhorns, bricks and glass
bottles at demonstrations of more than three people, was unanimously
approved by commissioners, on the condition that it expire at midnight
Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27. Commissioners agreed there needed to be a law
in place that safeguards the city from trade summit protesters -- even if
it means tailoring a law to one event.
"'This will send a message to those groups who want to come here and
create chaos,' said Commissioner Tomás Regalado. `We did tailor one law
specifically for them. So don't mess with us.'
"But commissioners said they would not support a permanent ordinance,
given the police department's past controversial encounters with
protesters."
