That is a great site, Paul. cheesebikini? is at the epicenter.

I have also been doing a stint of editing link submissions to the Smart Mobs blog for the last week or so. More than half of the links are now on Flashmobs. And more than half of those are from outside the U.S. It's been fascinating to follow.

http://www.cheesebikini.com/archives/cat_flash_mobs.html but there have
been a set of ur-flash mobs uncovered by this but covered by doug rushkoff
in some email message that i've long since lost. this event involved
several smaller groups who were unaware of each other until they met in
their various roles. one, with doug in it, were to dress as tourists and
follow a sunbrellaed tour guide to an unknown destination --turned out to
be the met or the nypl i forget which-- where suddenly protesters appeared
on the steps with inane signs. the protesters just as suddenly turned into
dancers when the third group of impromptu musicians came around the
corner. several participants were then arrested by cops (well, another
smaller group playing the parts of cops).
