For what it's worth, I went to Siegel Family Chiro in Chapel Hill for a few
months and I got significant relief for my sciatic pain. First visit was a
little over $100 because they did x-rays, thanks to my disc problem. After
that, it was $35 a pop (no pun intended) and worth it every time.

And Mr. Siegel called me at home a couple of times just to check up on me
because he knew how much pain I was in. Offered to me refer me to a different
type of doctor if the chiro alignments didn't do the trick within a few
months. A good guy. He helped and I trust him.

Since we have a kid on the way, I believe it is now important to have a
will made. Our corporate lawyer also does estate planning, and he
provided us with a newsletter extolling the virtues of a Revokable
Living Trust as opposed to a will. However, it seems quite expensive
(the price quoted in the newsletter is "typically between $1,500 and
$1,800 depending on the complexity of the plan" as opposed to "between
$500 and $800" for a will).

Has anyone else set one of these up? What were the fees like? Would
anyone like to recommend an estate planning lawyer? Is the fee for the
will even reasonable? I mean, heck, I got a dissolution for $500, and
I would think that would be more complicated than a will. We certainly
aren't wealthy, we just want to make sure that if one or the other or
both of us die unexpectedly, the surviving spouse and/or child(ren)
don't have to worry about money as their primary concern. Also, we
want to make sure custodial arrangements are made for the child(ren).

Secondary question: does it make sense to have a lawyer act as
executor? Since we don't have any family in the immediate area, I
hesitate to name a family member. Then again, I obviously don't like
paying lawyers. I doubt I'll like it any more when I'm dead. :)

Sorry for the morbid topic, I went to my Uncle's extremely unexpected
funeral just last weekend, so it got me thinking about proper planning.
