They didn't really "win", did they? The appeals court upheld the findings
of fact and conclusions of law (MS is a monopoly, and used their monoply
power to hurt competition), but threw out the remedy (break up MS into
two companies) ordered by Judge Jackson.

Another court will now review the penalty and decide what to do about
Microsoft, but the judgement that they acted illegally still stands.
