*News

-I saw Triangle firstround.org member HowStuffWorks.com on the new
ABC show DotComedy on Friday night at 8:30 pm. Great national
exposure!
Submit your idea to the show here:
http://abc.go.com/primetime/dotcomedy/dotcomedy_home.html

-Please remember to keep Feb. 22nd open for our one day conference in
Charlotte. Wish I could tell you who we are talking to for keynotes
but I promise you it will be worth your time. This will be a low cost
conference to help you on your journey as a tech entrepreneur. Please
stay tuned to the newsletter and the web site for details.

-Please check out the South By SouthWest conference in Austin, TX at
www.sxsw.com and submit your idea quickly to help our goal in letting
people know about the Carolina's growing tech community. Your idea
could win an award and get national exposure. I have made my
reservations for this educational and fun interactive, film and music
extravaganza!

being our November keynote speaker on media relations.

-Thank you for joining the firstround.org emailing list.
We now have over 150 members in the Triangle and over 840 members between
the 3 cities.

-Our mission: To help tech entrepreneurs get the funding they need
to be successful so we can help diversify the economy of second tier
cities in the southeast.

Strategy- To create an educational environment at our events to help
raise the intellectual capital of local tech entrepreneurs and make
them more attractive to local funding sources.

(We want to make sure you walk away with something tangible from our
meetings. This could include an important contact or a nugget of
information from the keynote speaker that you can use in your
business the next day.)

Our next Triangle event is on January 25,2001 and the topic is Mergers and
Acquisitions.
The keynote speaker will be Doug Ellis of Decision Point
(www.decisionpointint.com).
DecisionPoint International is a boutique Investment Bank providing merger and
acquisition services to technology companies in the Internet, IT and
communications sectors. We offer Clients a complete range of M&A services,
including sell-side assignments, buy-side assignments and strategic equity
alliances.

Our event will be held at George's Garage in Durham.
