Does that mean we are misinformed about the success of the French experience?

How much money did the government put into those reactors? How much do individual rate payers pay for electrical use? In France cooking is mostly by gaz from containers purchased at a local store.

Another important point is that they use a different technology. In the US nuclear technology is in many ways controlled by the Navy. All our reactors are the same technology used in Navy ships. Cheaper technologies are being investigated but most are built elswhere.
