Actually I had the message (didn't see first it as it was among many
other lines), and even asking me to report it to the mail list. Here it
is :

/bin/sh: ./config.rpath: not found.
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: check for missing prerequisite
headers?
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: section "Present But Cannot Be
Compiled"
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's
result
configure: WARNING: netinet/tcp.h: in the future, the compiler will take
precedence
configure: WARNING: ## ---------------------------------- ##
configure: WARNING: ## Report this to the FreeTDS lists. ##
configure: WARNING: ## ---------------------------------- ##
(sdsc729a:root)#

Just 1 comment: should this be a warning only , rather than an error ?

Thanks,
Frederic

Thank you very much for this. I thought the compiler was the issue but
the configure does not choke on this. Maybe configure should throw an
error (suggestion).

Here is the msg I have on the compiler from configure

checking for style of include used by make... GNU
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... cc
checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
checking whether we are cross compiling... no
checking for suffix of executables...
checking for suffix of object files... o
checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... no
checking whether cc accepts -g... yes
checking for cc option to accept ANSI C... none needed
checking dependency style of cc... hp
checking for special C compiler options needed for large files... no
checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... 64
checking for _LARGE_FILES value needed for large files... no
checking for gcc... (cached) cc
checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... (cached) no
checking whether cc accepts -g... (cached) yes
checking for cc option to accept ANSI C... (cached) none needed
checking dependency style of cc... (cached) hp
checking how to run the C preprocessor... cc -E
checking whether cc understands -c and -o together... yes
checking for a sed that does not truncate output... /usr/bin/sed

And the end of the configure which does not end up with an error.

config.status: creating include/config.h
config.status: include/config.h is unchanged
config.status: executing depfiles commands
(sdsc729a:freetds)$

Thanks again,
Frederic

You need a ANSI/C compiler. Personally I use gcc, you can download
from http://hpux.connect.org.uk/ or from hp software. Or you can use
hp one.
