Hello all,

I think db-lib is done?

I noticed today that Microsoft's db-lib lacks dbspid(), and checked my
1988 Sybase manual. It's not there, but it's in FreeTDS. I also looked
over doc/api_status.txt. For my money, of the unimplemented functions,
only bcp_moretext matters. That's not in the 1988 manual either.

TEXT and IMAGE data handling could use some work. TODO mentions
DBTEXTLIMIT.

db-lib has a bunch of dbmny* functions that no one uses, and a browse mode
I can't see anyone caring about today. There're also registered
procedures, about which Sybase says, "At this time, registered procedures
are not supported by SQL Server." It's really hard for me to imagine
using db-lib to communicate to anything other than SQL server.

I rewrote the buffering code awhile back. Frediano discovered it
disagrees with Sybase's implementation. OK, but no one else did, . Must
not be too much use of that feature "in the wild" either.

I've also compared the error message list to the ones we emit. There are
a bunch we don't, but again, none significant. They mostly pertain to
features we don't implement.

If it's not done, what would done mean to you?
