Ah ha! Well, it didn't waste my time. In fact, it was in trying to
reproduce your report that I found the BIT bcp problem I'm currently
trying to solve. Moreover, you stumbled on an assumption that freebcp
makes about the state of the connection. It should set NOCOUNT off
before it starts.

As a workaround, the user can do this himself using a current snapshot
of freebcp. It now takes "prefix" SQL as its -O option.
