Could you show us a little more of that output? I assume it's a linker
message, but I really can't tell, nor can I see just what the linker (if
that's what it was) was trying to do.

Is there perhaps some earlier error you're overlooking, or some mismatch
between header and source modules as a result of the upgrade? If you're
working from CVS, perhaps you need to run autogen.sh again.
