FARMING 101 - Learn the Basics of Operating a Farm!
March 19, 9:00am-3:00pm
@ TC3 Farm, 100 Cortland Rd (Rt. 13), Dryden NY

Getting started in a farm business or with a farming enterprise on your land for home food consumption is an exploratory process…start small, find out what you like to do and what does well at your site. Cooperative Extension and Groundswell will co-host a one-day workshop that covers the basics of getting started including talks by experienced farmers on raising livestock or horticultural crops.   The cost to attend is $10/first person, $15 per couple, includes lunch and handouts. Payable at the door. Advance registration is STRONGLY ADVISED in a case of cancellation due to inclement weather.

B – Raising Horticulture Crops (fruits, veggies, and ornamentals). This session will cover the basics of crop production from seed to harvest. Farmer/Presenter: Ort Family Farm; Church Street Produce
