CORNELL SMALL FARMS SEEKS NEW YORK LOG-MUSHROOM GROWER INFORMATION

ITHACA, NY – The Cornell Small Farms Program is requesting that farmers in New York currently producing log-grown mushrooms and those that intend to begin commercial sales of mushrooms in 2016.

Following on the heels of last week’s announcement that New York State has officially designated “actively managed log-grown woodland mushrooms” within the meaning of the term "crops, livestock and livestock products," the program is gathering grower data in order to seek funding to support industry growth.

A short survey can can be accessed at : http://goo.gl/forms/LCSZZGdliv.

New York growers can complete the survey until Monday, October 19th.

The Cornell Small Farms Program offers research and outreach on cultivation strategies and policy work, including factsheets, videos, and an online course in mushroom cultivation. These items can be found at www.cornellmushrooms.org.
