Want to try raising a pig for home meat consumption...learn how

Cooperative Extension is hosting a workshop on Wed. Feb. 25, 630-8:30 PM at the Extension Center located at 615 Willow Ave. off Rt. 13 in Ithaca.  The instructor for the class is Karma Glos, co-owner of Kingbird Farm located in Berkshire.  Karma has over 15 years experience raising livestock for sale at Kingbird farm and the Ithaca Market.  They follow organic practices and have lots of experience raising a variety of breeds that do well on pasture in season.   Additionally, they do their own breeding and farrowing.  Learn the sequence of raising pigs from piglet to market hog.

To register, contact Cooperative Extension at 607-272-2292 or email mjc72 AT cornell.edu

Pre-registration is requested so we can notify you in the event of weather related cancelations.

[Note: this class was originally scheduled to be held at 4-H Acres but is now relocated to the Cooperative Extension office downtown. ]
