I thank Jim Hester for referring Daniel et alii to my Early Christian Rhetoric and 2 Thessalonians (JSNTSup 30; 1989).  I dealt with the theology of Colossians, especially in connection with its eschatology, on pp. 86-89, with notes on pp. 123-124.

Gnilka argues on p. 175 that Colossians 3:4 is the only passage in Colossians which has a coming Parousia of Christ in view.

On Colossians and pseudonymity I would refer people to Mark Kiley, Colossians as Pseudepigraphy (Biblical Seminar, 4; Sheffield: JSOT Press, 1986), as well as the dissertation (directed by Eduard Lohse) of Helga Ludwig, "Der Verfasser des Kolosser-briefes -- Ein Schüler des Paulus" (Dr.theol. dissertation, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, 1974).  More recently I can recommend "The Making of Colossians: A Study on the Purpose and Formation of a Deutero-Pauline Letter," a dissertation by Outi Leppä (directed by Heikki Räisänen, University of Helsinki, 2000).
