The phrase actually seems to be relatively infrequent. According to my TLG
search for
EIMI hO EIMI in texts from the 8th cent BCE through the 2nd cent CE, the
exact phrase
occurs outside of 1 Cor only three times, once in the Acts of John 100.8 and
twice in
Origen, at De Oratione 6.5.28 and the Fragment of his commentary on 1 Cor at
79. On 1.
Rough parallels can be found only in Euripedes Medea 275, Plato Hippias Major
272 d3,
Alexander Aph. Metaphysics 612.4 and in the Scholia on Euripedes Ph. 484.1
and on
Homer's Iliad 1.147, 5.
