Hello. There are numerous ways to address these issues, but here is one
that I commonly find.

1. Contributors all retain their rights to the part they contributed.
That means that the work is in part their work. So yes, the story
developed through the collaboration of many users on your wiki will be
owned jointly by multiple authors.

2. Contributors all give permission to the general public to use the
work in certain way. For example, people all agree that their contributions
could be reproduced, performed, transformed, translated, etc. under
CC-BY 2.5 license. In MediaWiki, you can edit the text of
MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning, and thereby make sure that contributors
release their contributions under a specified license.

3. Because of the license to the public, anybody, either the owner of
the wiki or others, can use the submitted work under the license.

Hope it helps, but please note that I am not a lawyer. I could be
wrong on many points & assumptions.
