No other countries have united CC licenses in the world. Is it healthy for the CC ANZ?  APRA have control of admin of rights for both countries author rights and sound recordings, yet does that mean that CC ANZ is good idea? Can the CC licenses ever  function as intended for an artist that is with APRA and also using a CC license? what about the CC BY license?

APRA would have to change the conditions for the artist contract to that of ASCAP or BMI for the CC licenses to function as intended. That is not going to happen, look at how much cultural funding is dependent on maintaining the artist contract the way it is. Look at the information that the copyright council provide about CC.

Artists from Australian and New Zealand can join ASCAP in the US, they can't join online as they don't have a social security number. Yet they can join up with a paper application form, and need to fill in a W8ben form, the process is quit simple. i urge artists to transfer to ASCAP.

I ask that CC AU and CC NZ make this information clear on websites.
