Neomagic MagicGraph 128 V/ZV (DELL 166MHz Latitude LM) VESA 2.0

Regular text mode is poor quality.

Does not work with neofb.o (2.4.31 - did not find it for 2.2.26)
Complains about IRQ and address. Inserts anyway but fbset does not find its device.

Does not work as VESA or NEOMAGIC with svgalib programs, only as VGA.
(Did not try the Gateway neomagic XD).

Does not work with Xvesa (crashes) or XF86_SVGA (error message).
(Gateway works with SVGA server).

Works booted with a vesafb kernel (nice text), and does X with xfbdev. Framebuffer works but the rest of VESA is not very standard. I ran across many web comments about 'crummy neomagic video'.

Avoid neomagic if you are paying for a laptop to use with BL. Found also in IBMs. Chips and Technology works with all three servers and has nicer looking regular text too.
