Here I expirienced an interesting error. The system (BL3.5 out of
the box, only with mc.tgz added) tells me, that the
directory (!) /proc/sys/net/ip_forward does not exist.

This will be a problem. The router has been set up by my neighbour at
the 4th floor. But if necessary, I would be able to convince him
to change the configuration of the dhcp server or the routing table.
He just will not have the time to correct all my other mistakes and
explain to me what a network is ;-)
