I don't think it does.

When it is an image they may be the same size, I have not checked.

The Linux pdftops as compiled by Doug Kaufman did not work for me on at
least half of the files I tried it on. The DOS version works. I will
make a note of your suggestion and try it on that file with long pages.

This sounds like maybe more than I am capable of but I will try it.
I don't think I have pstops or pstopdf.

pdfimage (from xpdf) does not work for me much of the time - I get only
pieces of the image instead of a whole image.
