The את here is just the preposition 'with', creating the sense of 'along
with'. Pure and simple.

In 1Sam. 17:34 we find UBA HA-ARIY W-ET HA-DOB, 'and there came a
lion, and a bear'

וּבָא הָאֲרִי וְאֶת הַדּוֹב

It appears to me that ET HA- is but a separated ATAH, 'you' in the
sense of 'this'.
