Hello James,

You wrote, inter alia:

My suggestion to you is to take a look at even a most elementary
introduction to Hebrew and its history. You'll be suprised.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between a spoken langauage and a
language which is in use. If it is, it cannot be considered 'dead'.

Since you are in the UK, may I mention as an example that some documents
were written there in Hebrew in the Middle Ages, before the expulsion of the
Jews.

  You may discover those on Google or through a specialist. I'm away from my
books for a while. Anyway, this is truly outside the scope of this list.
