Hi all,

I've made a tool which I hope will prove useful to both
experienced hebrew professors and especially to starting
hebrew students.

The tool is an interactive set of frequency charts of
words and phrases found in the hebrew bible. The first
page shows the hundred most common single words and two,
three and four word phrases.

http://www.lamie.org/hebrew/frequency.php

>From here we can see that כה אמר אדני יהוה is the most
common four word phrase with a frequency of 110.
Clicking on its link takes us here

http://www.lamie.org/hebrew/frequency.php?s=f&n=4&p=%D7%9B%D7%94%20%D7%90%D7%9E%D7%A8%20%D7%90%D7%93%D7%A0%D7%99%20%D7%99%D7%94%D7%95%D7%94

This page shows us the combinations of equal and
greater length containing the same phrase and also
retrieves all the verses containing it and displays
them below that chart.

The tool can show interesting things like the most
common objects of YHWH's actions:

It can also show us the most common types of phrase
where YHWH himself is the object of the action:

I hope people find it useful. I especially hope that
beginning hebrew students can gain encouragement from
seeing how much can be read with a handful of carefully
selected words and phrases. Please encourage any
students you have to give it a go and see if it helps
with vocabulary acquisition.

If you like it and would like to suggest any features
or report any bugs (very likely as this is still alpha)
please send my an offlist email and encourage your
students to send me any feature requests also.

Thanks,

P.S. As a warning, if you click on a link with a
particularly high frequency such as eth or yhwh then
you can expect to have to wait half a minute or so for
the page to load because of its sheer size.
