Are there any sites on the internet to view these varient forms? The only places I have found have been either paper or purchased, both costing many hundreds of $$ that I don't have.

Even if I found an internet site I probably wouldn't trust it too much.
I prefer reference works. Do you have a University library nearby?

Karl and I would love to have good libraries near where we live, but unfortunately we don't. That is why we find Internet editions so valuable. Of course it is easy to fake Internet sites. But one reason why such a high proportion of Internet sites have rubbish on them is that the real scholars have such a negative attitude and try to restict access to a fortunate few who have access to libraries.

My dream Internet site would be a library which scanned pages from books more or less on demand and put them on the Internet for me. I would be prepared to pay something for such a service. Any one page would need to be scanned only once, and then stored in a large database. I realise that it would be hard to set up such a service for copyright reasons - although authors could get royalties foreach page downloaded. But it would make life much easier for people like me and Karl.
