<snip>
3. An initial Yod or Nun has dropped. This could only
be true if the root
has a prefix.

GJ - Sometimes an initial Lamed can drop out like the
Nun. Eg. first word in Gen. 2:15.

<snip>

Four initial radicals can drop (apocopate):

I-y
I-n
I-h (HLK only)
I-l (LQX only)

All four also drop (apocopate) to form the qal [G] infinitive construct
(with added /t/ and segholization); e.g., LEDET. There is no prefix in
this form. [Prefixed prepositions are functionally supplementary, not
intrinsic to the form.]

Blessings.

Uh - no, Marianne

Karnei is not the plural of rays - it is the plural of rays "OF"
something, ie: light

The plural of rays by itself is karnaim.

Rays OF something (ie light) = karnei - something

Rays alone = karnaim

shoshanna

More likely is the meaning ascribed to Moshe's "karnaim" - that his
face shown so much, that rays of light protruded from it.

Keren Or = ray of light

Yes, except that the plural of rays is "karney" and those of horns "karnaim".
