yes, Yigal, but as you said these are simply translations.

Marianne discussed the famous 1 Kings 20:11 -- )L YTHLL XGR KMPTX and
provided a dozen words or so of English translation. I wonder if there is a
more compact translation that approaches the impact of the original?

Now the structure of Semitic languages is different from that of the
English, yet it is the power of biblical Hebrew that is captivating to this
day.

Hi Marianne,

The expression in modern Hebrew is almost a translation of the English (or
maybe of an equivilant German of French expression): Ptah et kol hakkelafim
(open all of the cards), or, Hasof et kol hakkelafim (expose all of teh
cards).

The Unicode/XML Tanach has completed moving to:

http://www.cvkimball.com/Tanach/Tanach.xml

Moves can lead to missing pieces and other problems. Please contact me at
mail AT cvkimball.com if problems arise.

The re-hosting has greatly reduced the cost of the site while expanding the
space available. Consequently, files containing the Torah for individual
Documentary Hypothesis sources are now included via the "DH" link. A single
file of the complete Torah is also included.

Mails sent via the Tanach page from Friday, 22 October to Sunday, 24
October, have probably been lost in the transfer. Please re-send any
messages you transmitted to me during this interval.

Chris Kimball
