There is a debate how one should take the conditional verses non-conditional
statements in
the DtrH. It seems to me that it ran like this. Originally, the eternal
house of David's dynasty
was unconditional. A conditional conception came with Josiah in which even
the dynasty was
conditioned upon obedience to Dtr law. Dtr1 went back to the unconditional
to inspire hope
for the exiles.
