Dear Bryan,

I will not accept your attempt to stop this thread. Before reading
your posting I composed a well argued (I think) response to Walter's
posting based on arguments from the Hebrew text as well as from
history, and avoiding any kind of flames. If you wish to keep off the
list the types of flames we have been seeing from others, even if they
are learned professors, they should be warned and the discussion
allowed to continue if it is within the charter of this list. We
cannot allow one person's ravings to censor our general discussions.

Peter Kirk

B-Haverim,

A discussion of such a point as Tadmor as an indicator of
date of composition does not warrant that we drag the list
once again through another session of "whose side are you
on?" faith or cynicism, maximalist or minimalist,
evangelical or whatever. The instructive points and
counter-points about Tadmor have already been made. Drop
the thread. Please, friends, let's avoid probing for topics
that will do little more than resurrect the old animosities.
Let us carry on a bit more imaginatively in the discussions
to come. Thank you for your cooperation.

Shalom,
Bryan Rocine
B-Hebrew Co-chair
