Although i am pleased to see that the mainstream is starting to take notice, I thought that the quality of the article was very poor.  I know that NYT is one of the worst payers for freelancers but I am sure that most of us could have done better than this.

I was expecting to see a piece that conveyed the incredible enthusiasm and exhilaration that was generated at my PDC course, and instead all this was was some half-hearted pseud that obviously did not get it.  For my group, the PDC completely changed the way we looked at our surroundings and nature in general, and i though that was the same for everybody.

Maybe i should take some time out from my sci fi permaculture novel to have a go at doing something better. ;-)

Permaculture is spreading in a serious way in many countries most
notably West-east europe, us, UK, scandinavia and I suppose spain,
deeply into many sectors of their societies; hard to tell the
demographics, age groups most interested in using the technology.
