Carrots and cilantro ... will that do the trick? What about "true" sustainability, i.e., growing food without external inputs, no fertilizers, no mineral amendments or any other type of amendment for that matter. What about growing all the fertility on-site? Getting the soil to the point where it will continuously produce without external inputs just by returning plant residues - how far along that way are we?

Live like the Amish and other back-to-the-landers; make a plan and stick to it.
Raise most of your own food, eat in season, garden all seasons with season extension.
